What drew you to UnWork?

I have always been drawn to the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit, and the quiet but powerful ways that space shapes behaviour, connection, and experience. What brought me to UnWork was finding that same curiosity applied to the workplace. The idea that the workplace is not simply a backdrop to work, but an active and evolving part of it, is one that organisations are only beginning to fully reckon with. What excites me is that this is less a problem to be solved and more a future to be shaped, and UnWork sits right at the centre of that thinking, where research, people, and possibility meet.

Most inspiring place you’ve been to?

South Africa. From the ancient silence of the Karoo to the wild sweep of the bushveld, from jagged mountain peaks to where the Garden Route dissolves into the ocean, the landscape alone is breathtaking. But layer onto that a rich collision of cultures, languages, and food, where every street, every meal, every encounter tells a different story, carried by a people of extraordinary warmth and resilience, and you begin to understand why a place like this never quite lets you go.

In my quieter hours, I am a portrait artist. I work in charcoal, hyperrealistic pieces where the detail is everything. What keeps me coming back is the challenge of it. Getting it truly right. Capturing not just what someone looks like, but who they are in that moment. The emotion behind a glance, the personality in an expression, a single point in time pulled out of the paper by hand. Like insisting that this moment was worth preserving.
